Description

Bernardo Bellotto (1721-1780), also known as Canaletto the Younger, was an Italian painter who specialized in cityscapes and landscapes. He was particularly renowned for his precise and detailed depictions of architectural scenes.

One of Bellotto’s notable works is “Old Town of Dresden” (also known as “Dresden from the Right Bank of the Elbe Above the Augustus Bridge”), completed in 1765. This painting is currently housed in the Staatliche Kunsthalle in Karlsruhe, Germany.
