Description

Jean Fouquet (1420-1481) was a French painter and illuminator who was one of the most prominent artists of the 15th century. He is known for his contributions to the art of book illumination and panel painting.

One of Fouquet’s famous works is the “Madonna and Child,” created around 1450. The painting is currently housed in the Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten (Royal Museum of Fine Arts) in Antwerp.
